Overall Position (OP) Results 2015

St Aidan's Anglican Girls' School students have some of the strongest academic results in the school's 86 year history with the release of the 2015 Overall Positions. This year's results saw:

  • 42.35% achieving an OP between 1 and 5 (38.64% in 2014); and

  • 96.47% achieving an OP between 1 and 15.

These consistent outcomes (an average of 99% OP 1-15 for the last three years) point to the high quality education the School delivers year after year.   Our 2015 Year 12 students are to be congratulated on their outstanding and consistent academic achievement.  The OP results show St Aidan’s continues to be one of the top performing independent schools in Queensland with almost 1 in 2 students achieving an OP 1-6.

These results reflected the hard work and diligence of the 2015 cohort and the quality and professionalism of the teaching staff and educational experience offered at our School. This is enhanced by focused academic management on every student's performance.

These results are particularly noteworthy as the vast majority of the total cohort of 2015 graduating St Aidan's students are OP eligible with 100% of students also attaining their Queensland Certificate of Education.

While we recognise our students who achieved such strong OP scores, it is important to note these scores are only one indicator of dedication, hard work and excellence.  100% of all exiting Year 12 students have graduated with at least one qualification.

Tertiary education is only one of the future pathways for our students who come from a diverse range of backgrounds.

An OP score, used for tertiary education admission, is a student's position in a Queensland-wide ranking order of overall achievement in QSA-approved subjects. There are 25 OP scores, from the highest OP1 to OP25.

Queensland Core Skills (QCS) Test Results 2015

The 2015 graduates should also be congratulated on their performance on the Queensland Core Skills (QCS) Test. 35% of OP-eligible students were awarded an A.

St Aidan's 2015 graduates have had outstanding results in this year's Queensland Core Skills Test with 75% achieving an A or B on the test (in comparison with 46.1% for the State).

It is pleasing to see our students are recognised through these outstanding results, and that the quality of our education delivers these outcomes.

The way our teachers work with students and parents to plan and cater to the individual needs of students is a real strength of St Aidan's.

These strong results are a reflection of both the quality teaching and learning opportunities provided at St Aidan's and the diligent work done by our staff, students and parents in maintaining a focus on education.
