St Aidan’s Community Choir
The St Aidan’s community choir was first formed in 2006 by Jen Teh. As a new music teacher at St Aidan’s, Jen noticed many parents commenting on the fact that, whilst they loved attending the school concerts their children sang in, they missed singing in choirs themselves. Several parents had not sung since they were at school. Jen formed the community choir, inviting past students, parents, staff and past staff to attend. 60 people joined the choir that year and a number of them are still in the choir today, thirteen years on.The choir is now open to members of the broader community as well as those in the immediate St Aidan’s community.
Rehearsal is weekly on Tuesday evenings in the second half of the year and no auditions or past singing experience are necessary. The choir performs a range of music, from classical to popular, and performs at school concerts, public events and at the school’s Annual Awards Ceremony held each November.
The first rehearsal for 2019 will be on Tuesday 16 July at 6.30pm in the Auditorium. To register your attendance, click here.
