Operations Manager

Overview

We are inviting applications for the newly created role of Operations Manager.

St Margaret’s and St Aidan’s Anglican Girls Schools have a shared services model for key business functions. The purpose of the shared services model is to provide the Schools with high quality business and customer service, whilst ensuring continuous delivery and effective and efficient use of resources. 

The Role

Working closely with the Assistant Director – Campus Development and Operations, the Operations Manager provides effective leadership to and implementation of the School’s operations and facilities, while supporting the strategic vision of sustainable delivery solutions.

Contributing to a dynamic and fast paced environment, both schools have innovative and progressive master plans that they are actively implementing. This role will be integral to the implementation of the operational elements of these master plans.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • oversee all implementation aspects of school facilities and operations in conjunction with each School’s Facilities Manager and Catering Manager, including grounds, cleaning, maintenance, bus transport, traffic management, external users of school facilities and general operations.
  • provide operational input into the capital improvement program and each school’s master plans.
  • oversee the smooth operation and maintenance of the Sports Precincts of each school, including forward planning to ensure ongoing financial and physical sustainability.
  • ensuring compliance, a relentless focus on continual improvement and effective business and financial management of the core areas of responsibility.
  • effective management of service and stakeholder relationships including execution of contractual arrangements
About You

    You will be an experienced leader with well-developed skill in leading operational and infrastructure teams and services. You will equally as capable and motivated to provide strategic leadership to ensure future sustainability of the schools, as you will be happy to get involved in the day to day operation of the schools.

    You will bring:

    • Experience working in a facilities management environment including operations, routine maintenance, refurbishment and capital works.
    • Strong capabilities to drive continuous improvement and best business outcomes
    • A proactive approach to problem solving and seeking, at all times outcomes which improve the workplace.
    • Experience and knowledge implementing workplace health and safety requirements
    • The ability to build strong relationships with others, building a high level of trust and engagement through the quality of your work and people skills
    • A proven track record of managing change in a diverse environment, including the ability to strategically influence stakeholders at all levels.
    • Strong business acumen with the ability to work through abstract situations and quickly gain the knowledge required.

    This is a full-time role working equally across both St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School in Ascot and St Aidan’s Anglican Girls School in Corinda.
