Last year saw us launch our first ever Giving Day, raising funds for our Born to Fly Bursary, to assist those St Aidan’s families whose financial circumstances changed dramatically last year. The day was a huge success, raising an amazing $75,378. The impact of Covid19 on our families was greater than expected, with $115,000 of financial assistance granted. Thankfully the School was able to cover the difference, so no girl had to leave for no fault of her own.
On 21 October, we again will be celebrating our unwavering community spirit, on our second Giving Day. This year we are asking St Aidan’s staff, students, parents, friends and Old Girls to come together again to build and grow the Bursary Fund. Our goal is to ensure that each and every girl has the greatest opportunity to reach her aspirations in a nurturing environment.
This year’s Giving Day will provide donors with a choice: The St Aidan’s Born to Fly Bursary which will support St Aidan’s students experiencing financial hardship now and into the future. Funds will assist current and future girls with emergency school fee relief, purchase of essential materials for school, assistance with costs to represent the school in sport and extracurricular competition and/or the newly established St Aidan’s Old Girls Association Bursary, which will provide financial assistance to girls, including those related to Old Girls (e.g. daughters, granddaughters, great granddaughters, nieces), so they may have the opportunity to continue the rich tradition of attending St Aidan’s.
This year, our goal is to raise funds, to change the course of current and future St Aidan’s girls and to build the legacy of the Bursary Program, borne from our community coming together.
We are asking our families and friends of the school who can, to consider donating. No amount is too small and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. The fantastic news is that your gift will be doubled, thanks to passionate community members who will match your contribution dollar for dollar, but only if you give on or before our Giving Day on Thursday 21 October 2021. Every donation will go a long way to supporting St Aidan’s girls to continue their education.
