Academic Awards Assembly
The Academic Awards Assembly will be held on Tuesday, July 23rd, commencing at 12.30pm. Students receiving awards should also bring their lunch to the brief rehearsal in the CHC on Monday 22nd at lunchtime.
At this assembly, we recognise students’ academic achievement and progress for Semester One, 2019. Parents are most welcome to attend this assembly in the Christine Hartland Centre next week, where certificates will be given to students who received Fine Academic Achievement Awards and Academic Progress Awards as a result of their hard work in Semester One, 2018.
For Year 12, Fine Academic Achievement Awards are based on the Grade Point Average (GPA) of a 15-point scale. Year 12 students are eligible for this award if they received a GPA of 13 or above based on their academic performance in their best 5 subjects in Semester One.
For students in Years 7-10, Fine Academic Achievement Awards are awarded for students who have achieved an overall grade of A in a minimum of 4 subjects, and have a Grade Point Average of greater than 80 on a 100-point scale, for all subjects excluding RVE and Core PE.
For Year 11 students, Fine Academic Achievement Awards are awarded for students who achieved an overall grade of A in a minimum of 4 subjects in Unit One of their senior studies, and had a Grade Point Average of greater than 80 on a 100-point scale, for all subjects excluding RVE and Core PE.
For Years 12, Academic Progress Awards are awarded to current Year 12 for a GPA improvement of 1.0 from Semester Two, 2018 until Semester One, 2019. Year 11 students are not eligible for Academic progress awards until the completion of Unit 2 of their senior studies.
For students in Years 8-10, Academic Progress Awards are awarded based on a GPA improvement of 8 or greater on a 100-point scale.
Congratulations to the students who will receive their awards at that Assembly. Please note that Junior School students receiving these awards will be contacted through the Junior School. Any questions regarding these awards should be directed to Lynda Wall firstname.lastname@example.org

OP Prediction meetings Year 12
Students in 12 will soon be meeting one-on-one with members of the Education Leadership Team to receive their OP predictions based on their results from their Authority subjects studied this semester. This is based on interim information only, and offers a predicted range to give some guidance to students as to their progress towards gaining an OP. Students should also be discussing the outcomes of these meetings with their parents. It is a good opportunity for students to set some goals in terms of progress for the coming semester. Any student who misses a meeting is responsible for rescheduling by coming to see Mrs Wise in the downstairs administration area of the senior school.
Year 12 2020 Parent Information evening: ATAR update
Students currently in Year 11 will progress to Units 3 and 4 of the senior syllabuses in Term Four. At this time, the marks awarded will begin contributing to their ATAR outcomes. A parent information evening will be held on 10th October at 6:30pm to discuss timelines, assessment requirements, and to answer questions about ATAR studies.
Year 11 parents are reminded that students should not miss school, other than for illness, during Units 3 and 4 of senior studies.
Year 9 and 10 2020 subject selection information evening
An information evening will be held at 6:30pm on 7th August for parents of students in Years 9 and 10 in 2020. The evening will outline the curriculum and subject selection options for students in these year levels. Students will also be addressed at year level meetings during the school day. Subject selection forms will be due for return for these year levels on 19th August.
